THE DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE - June was a great month! We have several new volunteers that are actively involved with the program. Several effective group activities included (1) a debate activity where they split into teams and were given a toss up question where they decide if they agree or disagree with the issue. The objective was to argue or convince others of their point of view by explaining why. They learned how to think quickly, analyze situations, view circumstances from multiple perspectives and speak in front of an audience; (2) an activity consisted of the students acting out, illustrating, or describing certain words or phrases so the other students could guess the answer.
